The opportunity: head of public affairs, brazil facilitates, manages, and executes interactions with local legislators and other government stakeholders as well as brazilian industry organizations and if relevant the non-Governmental sector to identify, develop and maintain relevant opportunities for A.P. Moller-Maersk and mitigate risks. Achieves that independently and/or as leader of a small maersk, we believe in an integrated world. Connected all the way. Sustainability and decarbonization of trade are integrated into our everything we do, we are driven by our purpose and by values which have been shaped and strengthened our company since its foundation in 1904.To support this journey, we are strengthening our government relations and public affairs activities in brazil with a head of public affairs based in you want to be a part of this journey, we want to hear from position:reporting to the vice president, head of public policy & regulatory affairs, based in copenhagen, denmark, and will closely coordinate actions with senior representatives located in panama and brazil from all maersk will contribute to business development, issue management, and mitigation of political and regulatory risks for maersk in brazil. This is a great opportunity to be part of a diverse, highly skilled and engaged global public affairs team with colleagues in north america, europe, south asia & global public affairs team follows political and regulatory developments and engages in dialogue with governments, authorities, industry organizations and other stakeholders on issues that could impact maersks business framework conditions. Furthermore, we provide support and guidance to management and business units in engagement with government representatives or other responsibilities:- Business development and issues management. Monitoring and mapping of public policy and regulatory issues of relevance to maersk businesses in brazil in coordination with business leaders prioritizing issues based on a value-At-Stake approach monitoring and reporting on developments. Act as a trusted advisor to maersks leadership, both in brazil, regionally and globally.- Advocacy. Develop advocacy strategies and execute on same to drive business objectives and align with policies of the brazilian government for maersk to grow and develop unique logistics and transport solutions for customers and facilitate brazils trade with the rest of the world. Produce relevant advocacy material, including background briefings, position papers, and together with maersk management contribute to the policy development in brazil in areas relevant to maersk business.- Coordinate engagement with relevant stakeholders in the central government, agencies, policy think tanks, business associations in brazil. Execution of maersks government relations and public policy activities, including engaging appropriately with relevant key government officials, port authorities, business associations coalitions and other relevant stakeholders. Furthermore, mobilize and involve senior executives in engagement with external stakeholders when relevant and appropriate.- Monitor national and regional policy developments in brazil/latin america, e.G., logistics, infrastructure, trade as well as other relevant issues like trade policies, geopolitics and more. Following general political and policy trends across brazil and the region to support business development and mitigate risks. Analyse and report on these developments when relevant for maersks prioritized regulatory are looking for:- Experience from a role in a mnc, consultancy, government/agency or similar with public policy and government affairs in brazil, including a fundamental understanding of priorities and dynamics of politics in brazil. Public affairs experience from the rest of south america will be an advantage.- A masters degree in public policy, economics, or political science, or a strong business background combined with a deep understanding for politics in brazil.- Knowledge of and experience with infrastructure, logistics/supply chain and/or transport is considered valuable.- A self-Starter that takes lead and owns both the process and the outcome, all the way.- Exemplary networking and influencing skills, able to partner effectively and form relationships with an international group of high-Performing colleagues, peers, and management across the maersk organization.- Ability to grasp and translate complex issues into a language suitable for concerned audiences in a fas.
