Description qualifications: boeing brazil is seeking an expert flight controls safety engineer reporting to the flight control engineering manager at são josé dos campos office. Are you passionate about safety? Would you like to contribute to the worlds safest transportation system? As systems safety engineer in the flight control system organization, you will have the opportunity to work with systems safety analysis and process related to boeing commercial airplanes (bca) programs currently under development and in-Service issues. This position offers exposure to all aspects of airplane design and operation, mainly focused on evaluating the safety of our products during commercial airplane certification process and in-Service operation. The importance of this function cant be over-Stated as you will contribute to ensuring product safety for boeing commercial airplanes products. Position responsibilities: conduct sfha (system functional hazard assessment) process for flight controls system collaborate with aircraft level engineering integration organization team to support afha (aircraft level safety assessment) process conduct ssa (system safety assessment) process for flight control system, including fault-Tree analysis, particular risk analysis and common cause analysis. Review flight control system equipment fmea (failure mode and effect analysis). Potential safety issues analysis and investigation by defining the associated hazards, using complex risk analysis techniques to evaluate these hazards, and using both boeing and faa methodologies to determine the corrective action timeline, in order to ensure the issue is addressed before safety risk thresholds are reached support global fleet operations including: subject matter expert consultation for airline and regulator queries participate in resolution efforts to resolve service related problems (srp) and analyze reported flight incidents to provide recommendations to the safety review board (srb) for continued operational safety program (cosp) determinations to lead safety lessons learned investigations to address systemic root causes (requirements, process changes, etc.) and identify corrective actions to prevent safety issue recurrence on the next design partner with enterprise safety and safety management systems (sms) to continuously improve our processes and tools to ensure we are ready for the future of bca (boeing commercial airplanes) and to ensure these processes are consistent with the greater boeing enterprise act as a champion for product safety initiatives, objectives and milestones this position is hybrid/telecommuting. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite at one of the listed location options. Basic qualifications (required skills/experience): must have existing rights to work in brazil must have a degree in engineering proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the english language must be registered or eligible to register with the engineering and agronomy regional council (conselho regional de engenharia e agronomia - Crea) senior level of experience with systems safety process. Preferred qualifications (education/experience): senior level of experience with certification process for aeronautical products senior level of experience with flight control systems design, validation and verification process senior level of experience with systems safety analysis tools like cafta (computer-Assisted fault tree analysis) knowledge of sae arp4754 processes (guidelines for development of civil aircraft and systems) knowledge of sae arp4761 processes (guidelines and methods for conducting the safety assessment process on civil airborne and equipment) a successful expert engineer candidate will have the following capabilities: Strong ability to interact and communicate with boeing senior management and technical peers Ability to mentor engineers in the safety disciplines and processes. Be a reference within the company and flight controls communities regarding to safety disciplines. Relocation: -This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
