Result of service the consultant will be responsible for the development and implementation of the technical content of the course urban and regional planning, which will be delivered in the distance learning modality (synchronous virtual workshops) and elaborated based on the 2030 agenda, the new urban agenda, and un-Habitat course urban and regional planning along with the other courses that will be offered makes up for the second stage of this project and aims to enhance the municipal capacity for promoting sustainable urban development and supporting the collective construction of better cities for the present and future generations. The course will be offered in an online platform with synchronous activities, it is aimed particularly at public managers, decision-Makers, stakeholders in general and technical staff involved in the public policy cycle (formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation).The consultant will work in close collaboration with the operational and technical teams of un-Habitat office in rio de locationhome basedexpected durationthe consultancy has an expected duration of two (2) backgroundthe main mandate of the united nations human settlements programme (un-Habitat) is to promote sustainable development of human settlements and policies conducive to adequate housing for all. Within this framework, un-Habitat supports central and state governments, as well as local authorities and other partners for the implementation of the habitat agenda, the 2030 agenda with the sustainable development goals and the new urban Habitat helps the urban poor by transforming cities into safer, more inclusive, compact, integrated, resilient and connected places with better opportunities where everyone can live with dignity. It works with organizations at every level, including all spheres of government, civil society and the private sector to help build, manage, plan and finance sustainable urban regional office for latin american and the caribbean - Rolac - Is based in rio de janeiro, brazil. Through a partnership with undp and sudene to improve institutional and technical capacities of 52 cities on sustainable territorial and urban development, un-Habitat is now setting up training modules for public sector capacity building in the 52 order to properly implement this project, the consultant (urban and regional planning) is required to ensure a good execution of the work to un-Habitat managerthe consultant (urban and regional planning) will report to the national officer for brazil in the un-Habitat.
