t overall job purpose under general supervision, using prevailing engineering design procedures, standards and codes and relying on experience and judgement to prepare complex engineering and technical drawings and in some circumstances generate original designs to depict the layout and equipment arrangement so as to support the engineers in conducting their engineering planning, design and construction work. 2nd core responsibilities prepares complete sets of complex engineering drawings which include drawings from multiple views, detailed and fabrication drawings. Having analyzed complex designs and evaluated equipment systems, creates product layouts and generates new designs. Prepares layout design of equipments, components, structures and systems, using past references where possible and standard designs and drawings, manufacturers catalogs and technical guides. Performs final drafting review to ensure that comprehensive dimensional data is provided for engineering or fabrication purpose. Reviews to ascertain accuracy, completeness, and conformance to relevant drafting designs, component weights and system standards. Prepares documentation, information and communication such as engineering change notices (ecns), engineering specifications, design reports and required system documentation in accordance with relevant policies and procedures. Ensures that the drawings provide dimensional tolerances as required and defined or designed by the manufacturers or engineers so as to ensure proper assembly fit. Prepares drawings and presentation slides as part of technical specifications and presentations for project proposal. Performs administrative duties and design related tasks such as transferring drawings from computer to printing hardcopy as assigned. Prepares time estimates for review prior to commencement of assigned work. Does not have accountability on staff matters, but required to guide the junior designers and drafters. 5th work relationships reports to design supervisor who provides support and guidance on resource and corporate matters. On day-To-Day work matters, reports to the engineers of the assigned project. Deals frequently with the engineers of the assigned project as well as other lead engineers, designers and drafters working on the assigned project. Does not have any subordinates. 6th job challenges and problem solving at times, has to work under very tight timelines to support the engineers timely and effectively. Often has to work on multiple assignments concurrently. Occasionally, has to rework on the design and drawings repeatedly based on revised parameters, when the engineer changed ideas or concepts. 7 qualifications & experience educational qualification: diploma in engineering.
