Asworkshop team leaderwill be responsible for the financial and operational performance ofniteroi/rj workshop (brazil)to deliver timely services (repair and maintain components from our customers large power generation equipment and marine vessels) with profitability as per wartsila global policies, processes, hse and quality guidelines, and guaranteeing reporting accuracy etc. A typical day in this position starts with you joining a toolbox talk in the early morning with the workshop engineers and technicians to talk about need for awesome performance, scheduling of work, safety and quality concerns, and reviewing the schedule, safety & quality targets for the day, week & month. Workshop team leader reports togeneral manager regional workshopand you will work closely with customers/sales team/contracts teaield services team and other workshops in amer/globally. The positionmay require occasional travel- Domestically or internationally, and a passport and availability can be required. Main responsibilities:workshop asset planning and utilization: plan long-Term capacity and maintenance of the machines and tools, resource ensuring availability including sourcing from field services and/or from other network companies competences planning and development: plan and manage competence development of resources based on business/product needs including hiring new resources interface with, customers, sales and fs operations / resources approval of work reports administrative role for workshop billable personnel (time registration, timesheet handling, reporting of work, dds etc.) and for non-Billable personnel. Delivery solutions to customers requirements:bachelors degree in marine/mechanical engineering or equivalent experience with repair and maintenance of large reciprocating/rotating machinery or equivalent field experience good understanding of machining activities knowledge of ms office, sap, etc experience in field services operations or workshop coordination, will be a differential strong understanding of departmental and corporate kpis such as revenue, margins, profitability, utilization etc, will be a differential skills:lean thinking making the changes happen ability to achieve results decisive and action-Oriented strategic planning and target setting people management (good communication and leadership) cost awareness and effectiveness motivation to learn and grow professionally flexible and dedicated good organization operational excellence mind-Set at wärtsilä we value, respect and embrace all our differences, and are committed to diversity, inclusion and equal employment opportunities everyone can be their true self and succeed based on their job-Relevant merits and abilities.
