Responsibilities: • participate in project meetings with and without customers being able to effectively lead cross-functional teams throughout the project life-cycle • provide the technical inputs to field technician, scope-of-work and support field engineer’s to ensure services are correctly commissioned and provisioned during system acceptance and validation, within given timescales. The network operations engineer will be the primary poc for the field technician during the commissioning phase of a project unless otherwise stated. • detect and troubleshoot network issues • define the technical details of the change management process and where required schedule outage window with stakeholders. All change management must have a valid execution plan, validation plan and back-out plan as per process. • ensure client services are correctly setup and monitored by the relevant tools (footprints/service now) with required operational reporting, following defined processes to maintain global standards. • generate service reports updates as necessary • if an outage occurs, supports the response efforts with engineering and field team • maintain detailed and accurate shift logs • respond to customer emails and phone inquiries Qualification: • ability to work with minimal supervision being able to prioritize, manage time and meet deadlines. • ability to convey information both verbally and in written form in a professional manner • high organizational and time management skills • full cisco background or equivalent knowledge, certification preferred, ideally experienced with voip, mpls and routing protocols (bgp, ospf, rip and eigrp) • comprehensive knowledge of satellite theory, as well as terrestrial networking, general ip and voice. • must be flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities Experience: • technical support: 3 years (preferred) • cisco routing: 5 years (preferred) • qos/mpls: 5 years (preferred) • telecomm: 3 years (preferred)
