The associate vice president for individual giving works in close consultation with the vice president of development to develop and implement a strategic plan that will achieve st. Lukes fundraising goals. The avp for individual giving has direct responsibility for managing the individual giving team (annual, major and leadership gifts), partnering with the vice president of development to develop, implement and support strategic fundraising priorities and initiatives, and soliciting/closing gifts at the major, leadership and principal level ($25k-$5m), with a primary focus on solicitations at the principal and transformational level. Job duties and responsibilities: leads and manages the individual giving team by ensuring that the appropriate systems, staffing, and procedures are in place to support fundraising goals. Serves as a resource, role model, and coach to the individual giving team, setting clear performance expectations and holding them accountable for outcomes. Helps to create goals that strengthen and enhance a culture of collaboration between annual giving, major and leadership gifts, and gift planning to inspire multi-Faceted and blended gifts. Participates and supports the development and implementation of operating and strategic fundraising priorities (including capital campaigns) and initiatives and ensures the consistent execution of best practices. Advises the vice president of development on matters concerning annual and major gift fundraising opportunities for st. Lukes and its affiliates. Works collaboratively with leaders across the st. Lukes network to lift the priority and profile of fundraising and broadly communicate fundraising needs and impact. Actively manages a personal portfolio of 30-50 current and potential major and leadership gift prospects ($25k-5m), with a primary focus on solicitations at the principal and transformational level. Completes a minimum of 50 substantive donor moves each year, with a focus on face-To-Face visits. Documents personal fundraising activities in the development database system and tracks progress through active implementation of the moves management system. Physical and sensory requirements: sitting for up to eight hours per day, up to two hours at a time. Walking for up to one hour per day, up to 15 minutes at a time. Involves frequent fingering, firm grasping, handling and twisting and turning. Occasional lifting and carrying objects up to 25 pounds. Occasional stooping, bending and reaching above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, color vision, peripheral vision and visual monotony. Education: bachelors degree required. Masters degree preferred. Training and experience: minimum of three to five years of demonstrated progressive administrative experience in health care. Fundraising certification strongly desired. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
