Position: Teacher assistant - Advanced english is required. Uses data from standards-based projects and coordinates with the teacher what support is necessary to enhance their students learning experiences in the program. Coordinates with the teacher to create and plan quality lessons. Provides instructional support in specific courses or in academic skills areas (e.g. Reading, writing, grammar, pronunciation, etc). Works collectively with teachers to coordinate efforts to promote student success. Maintains required data on individual student progress and communicates regularly with the school director, teachers, and parents about the progression of their students. Works one on one with students or in small group instruction. Ability to interact in a friendly and patient manner with students from different cultural backgrounds, students of all levels of language proficiency, and students who may have learning disabilities. Knowledge of the addressing the academic needs of english learners. Provides support utilizing the online computerized currículo platform. Adapts to changing technologies and learns the functionality of new equipment and systems. Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to work with high school students. Performs other duties as deemed necessary by the school/district administration.
