Powertrain engineering is contributing to the volvo group’s competitive position in the market place by developing and maintaining profitable products and product components in terms of quality, delivery, cost and function and that comply with all applicable regulatory requirements. Our scope of work includes engineering and design of engines, gearboxes, axles, hybrid technology and driveline and is based on common architecture and shared technology. Virtual simulation & data analysis is part of the powertrain engineering applicationcenter in curitiba and is responsible for performing simulation & data analysis in powertrain for several products of the volvo group. We have cooperations with our colleagues in gothenburg (sweden), lyon (france), hagerstown (usa), ageo (japan). Job summary:as a trainee, you will support the engineering team to carry out simulation activities and data analysis in powertrain areas for all our products: medium and heavy duty diesel engines, hybrids systems, transmissions and rear axles. You will also develop new solutions to optimize fuel consumption, vehicle performance and engine emissions with a strong focus on the latin america market needs. Accountabilities/responsibilities???????:support the development of new virtual simulation models based on matlab/simulink focusing on latin america product portfolio;support the engineering team to perform powertrain 1D simulations and optimization (fuel economy, emissions, component dutycycle) within busses and trucks;data mining using python and R tools;create creative dashboards using powerbi. Education, experience, knowledge and skills:engineering degree ongoing – computational, electronics, mechanical, mechatronics or electrical;you are a technology lover, you like data, electronics, trucks, construction machines and busses!You know a lot about programming and has good “hacking” skills: sql, matlab/simulink, python and R are easy for you;office 365 knowledge is necessary;powerbi and the capacity to make nice presentations;good communication skills in portuguese and english, both spoken and written.
